Summary

Critical thinking defined by the internet is the ability to effectively analyze information and form a judgment. The way I would define critical thinking is the action of thinking outside the box on various topics. The two speakers define critical thinking as, the “Art of analyzing and evaluating thinking with a view of improving it” and “How to question things rigorously , form sound well reasoned coherent thoughts and arguments”. The speakers feel that critical thinking is beneficial to society due to it being a key subject or idea to improve ways of thinking in all aspects of life. I agree because not only can it make learning itself engaging but teaches ignorant minds how to question their own credibility. The idea itself of being wrong doesn’t sit right by people because we all want to feel like we smart in some way, but if we learn not to be entitled by our thoughts then that leads for creative and unrestricted thinking. For example, if you hear rumors of a fellow student and immediately believe it due to multiple people voicing the same idea then anytime you see that person your prone to think that rumor truly applies to that individual based on being bias. But if critical thinking skills are to be applied then instead of immediately conforming to others thoughts, you think to yourself whether this notation is creditable and as result look for evidence that does or does not point to that unsure conclusion.
