These websites have given many people a place to express their emotions, make new friends, and reconnect with old ones. Sadly, these same websites have been abused by criminal organizations to coordinate with other organizations of a similar nature and to attract new members to this group. This research is a qualitative investigation that examines the existence of gangs in social networking platforms, particularly in Canada and other nations. The findings of this study suggest that there are many gangs active on social networking platforms.
