Assignment 1 – Neighborhood by Kevin Rivera

My neighborhood is located in West Harlem and covers 12 acers. The location is between Broadway and Amsterdam. Some features are around every corner there is a church which gives people the ability to continue religious practices. Places such as the apollo are considered a historical monument theater hosting concerts for big names like Duke Ellington and Billie Holiday. When exploring the neighborhood the community at times feels united due to the excessive events that are happening every month. From personal experience the parks and the baseketball courts were always fun to visit. Improvements that can be done are to clean up the neighborhood because trash is left unchecked which leads to more issues. Overall the neighborhood is something that will be imbedded in my memories due to me having lived their my whole life.
