I’ve lived in my community for my whole life and I can promise you that around 340 Williams Ave, it’s safe for the people who are making a living. To be honest it is a rough neighborhood and I can’t promise you that you might find trouble lurking in the streets, but at the same time, I haven’t seen high crimes committed around here. I know it’s a lot to look at but I’ll go step by step on what I’m showing you.
In the first 3 photos, you can see 2 pictures of doors and me having keys in my hand. To be clear the brown door on the left is my apartment door and it has 2 locks, it’s almost impossible for people to break it down. Same goes for the door in the middle which is the only entrance to enter inside the building. The door has a steel material and to open the door you need a special key like what I’m holding on the right photo. With this key, anyone who owns it an enter the door. I say ts beneficial cause it keeps intruders from coming inside which in every building in my community has these kinds of doors so breaking and enter crimes are very low.
Next is in my community there’s a police station, we all know police keep the streets safe and protect us from anything or anyone who can harm us. They’re very welcoming and would lend any help, As you can see they got their police cars parked next to their station.
Up next is my favorite spot in my community area which is a park. There’s a basketball court and what you see on the right is a huge area. I’m not sure what’s it called or how it was used. To me it was always empty and nobody seems to use it. At night my mother and I would go out for runs in that area and it’s pretty safe to be there. As you can see there are street lights around the area and it allows me to see my surrounds from the ground to the outside of the running track.
In this park there are cameras on the brick houses, they work okay and they help by watching what;s going on in the park. Crimes like robbery, fighting, drug dealers, and other crimes that be outside never happen and police will be at this park in almost every nigh to make sure peace isn’t disturbed.
Lastly is the school near my building. it’s an early educational school for families and kids to start school and the people who work there do an amazing job keeping the children safe. In the morning parents often take their children to school and then give them to the teachers/staff. When school is active the staff lock the entrances and gates with heavy lock chains as you can see in the photo on the left there is one right there. During playtime in the outdoors the school also has a park for the children and when the children are outside some teachers and staff supervise them. Since it’s a public park, there can be times when people outside of the school enter the playground so to keep the children safe the staff also lock the entrances of the park with chains and with signs that say “Children are outside, please don’t enter.”
My community prioritizes the safety of people and children. crimes with violence (robbery, unknown attacks, rape, kidnapping) are never seen where I live. This community may not look beautiful or clean, but this community has people with big hearts for others.
