A way crime is prevented in my neighborhood is by having the police install a NYPD security camera on sidewalk corners. These security cameras are installed in areas of the neighborhood where crimes have happened before. By having these cameras installed crimes will be able to be captured to catch the person who is committing the crimes. Also By having these cameras it will make a person think twice before committing a illegal act.
In this photo we have a sidewalk light presented. In my Neighborhood these are used to help prevent crimes since these lights are placed in areas where there tend to be no light especially at night. Also most times these lights are placed in specific areas where a crime has been taken place before. By having a big bright light in areas in my neighborhood specifically more close to a-lot of the buildings were people live in it can help people feel more safer walking home especially in the night time. Since lots of crime tends to happen also in the night time having bright lights outside will help it happen less in those areas.
My local precinct helps prevent crimes in my neighborhood. Often their are cop cars that stroll through the neighborhood to make sure their are no issues happening anywhere. The police at this local precinct also accept and go to when they receive calls nearby in the area. Also Usually in my neighborhood their would be local events taking place in the community and majority of police come from this precinct.
In my building a way crimes are prevented is by installing cameras in every building. Installing cameras help have record if a crime was to happen. Usually in my building their tend to be people who steal packages. This has happened to me before and I was able to see who stole my package. Also by having cameras in my building it allows for everyone living in the building to feel comfortable as well as myself.
Cameras being installed in grocery stores has help prevent crime in the neighborhood as well. Usually stores in my neighborhood have cameras inside and outside of their business store in order to make sure they have all views from everywhere. Their are times where people have stole from stores or incidents outside of stores have took place. By having security cameras they are able to identify the person who is committing the act so it can be prevented again. As well as letting people know they are on camera if they decide to commit and illegal act.
