Stallings- Short Assignment #1

Summary

The majority of crimes that are being reported today revolve around murders and/or death. The most extreme crime citizens can commit toward each other makes all the headlines in every publication. The saddest story I've seen this month involved the 1-year-old who died from fentanyl exposure in a daycare. You would think a daycare would be just as safe as their home but their safety is still compromised. It only recertifies the scares that parents have when it comes to the environments they put their children in. Another news report involved a police officer who killed 2 teens who tried to run him over. It was said the teens were driving a stolen vehicle and broke into two smoke shops. You may not hear too much about muggings or burglaries unless a chain of incidents occurs in a particular area. But I'm sure it still happens often.
In my opinion, the nature of serious crimes won't come to an end, but procedures need to be put in place to prevent them and get things under control.

The girls, Kayla Cuevas, 16, and Nisa Mickens, 15, were killed in 2016 by Enrique Portillo and two other members of MS-13, prosecutors said.
New York’s attorney general opened an inquiry into the fatal shooting, which occurred amid what officials said was an investigation into car thefts and burglaries.
Three other children who appeared to have come into contact with fentanyl or another narcotic were revived with Narcan, officials said.
A 1-year-old died in a Bronx apartment housing a day care program, and three others fell ill. Two people have been charged with murder.
