This about a mother a father bullying and torturing their one year old autistic child. The father specifically would abuse his children both mentally and physically, but poor Thomas had it the worse. The one year old autistic child died of hypothermia. The day of his death, his father had him sleep in the garage at 19 degree weather. He was not allowed to use the bathroom, thus releasing onto himself, right before school. His father angrily hit him, took him outside and hosed him down with cold water naked in 19 degree weather. This was heartbreaking to read. Thomas could have lived to see another died, if CPS (child protective services) had done their job. The staff at the school where the kids went too, multiple times called CPS in regards of state of both children. Going to school bruised and cut up. The staff called CPS over two dozen times, but to no avail did they go and help these children.

This is about multiple children who were exposed to fentanyl, one of them sadly passed away due to the exposure. The caregiver who owned the daycare, was trying to wake up multiple children from their nap, when she had notice some of them were unresponsive and just not waking up. She rushed and immediately called 911. The caregiver had been renting a room to her husband’s cousin. Both of them were charged for the death. There was multiple kilos of fentanyl found in the apartment. Sadly the kids unfortunately were exposed to the fentanyl and it was catastrophic.

This is about a mother, who has been abusing her kids. One of her kids, sadly passed away. The police received a call about an unresponsive child with bruises all over her. The mother has had a history on child neglect and child abuse. The brother’s school had reported to CPS, that the brother would miss out on school, come to school with uncleaned clothes, and smelling like urine. CPS, this time, took action and went to the house, but no proof of child abuse, and the child said he felt safe around his mother. Unfortunately one of the kids had to die, in order for some real investigation to be shined onto the abuse of that household.

This is about a case of a one year old girl’s death, who was found with injuries in critical conditions. This family has also have had history with CPS, no one has been charged yet.

This is about parents being arrested for the death of their 3 month old baby. The baby was found, due to one the parent’s relative called CPS due to fear of the baby’s situation.

The type of crimes likely to be reported is death. Death is always an attention grabbing subject, because of how serious it can be. Death can happen many ways, accidental, and purposeful. In the case of these children, most of their deaths were purposeful. In the first article you can read right away how the system failed Thomas. CPS had been contacted by the school multiple times, in connection to Thomas. Had they have put in the time and effort, young Thomas would still be alive. Both parents are evil and cynical, to cause that type of harm on a children. It is unforgivable. In Nicholas’s case it seems to have accidental. The caregiver Grei, made a huge mistake in renting out a room to her husband’s cousin. She should have had an idea of what was going on under her house, especially when she housing other people’s kid. She should have went above and beyond, because the parents paid and trusted her to take care of their little ones. The case of Jalayah hits close to home. I am from where Jalayah was from. It’s a sad case that again CPS had failed to protect a child. Again, a school had contacted CPS over the state of Jalayah’s brother. Although; they did come to the house and investigated. Clearly it was not enough. The article talks about the shortage of CPS workers. Frankly, that is no excuse, both government, and CPS should also be held accountable. If there is a shortage of CPS workers, the government should fund more money to these social workers. The CPS workers got into this field for a reason. They had to thoroughly investigate the situation. If staff at the school is causing and explaining the condition of these children, do more than just go to the house ask them a couple of questions, and see if their is any physical damage on them at the moment. Another story where CPS is involved but no action was taken. Poor Genevieve lifeless body found in the woods. As I said earlier, death will always be headlined, it’s a touchy subject. Any time someone dies, especially a children, it grabs the whole communities attention. Sadly, it catches the attention of CPS too late at times.

  1. These stories are very sad but also very true. There are so many cases of parents being malicious towards their children and the authorities would be called or school staff would be notified, and they would investigate, and nothing would be done about it. I feel like child protective services is bad and they do not take a lot of situations as serious as they need to. If the services for children were more serious about these cases, they would save so many children lives.
