Summary
The movie "Parasite" depicts the Kim family, who are struggling financially, gradually infiltrating the household of the wealthy Park family by posing as highly skilled workers. As they become more intertwined with the Parks' lives, a moral dilemma arises An ethical egoist would argue that the Kim family should act in their own self-interest, regardless of how it affects others. In this case, they could maintain the deception for as long as possible, as it provides financial benefits and improves their living conditions.
If I were in the Kim family's situation, I would reveal my true identity to the Parks. I believe in respecting individuals and allowing them to make decisions based on the truth. Furthermore, continuing to deceive the Parks could potentially harm them emotionally and financially, and taking advantage of them in this way would be unfair.

Julissa, I didn’t have the opportunity to watch the film but it does sound interesting and I may consider watching it. True is not always good to say but when you know it could harm others is better to say the truth.
I agree with you that the family acted in their own self-interest, they only seek to improve their life, and not care about others, and didn’t feel any guilt only cared for there own.
Yes, people would argue they did no wrong because of their poor living conditions but lying and deception are wrong to begin with. However, they were proud and planning of how to keep deceiving them and ended up losing their home and everything.
