What is critical thinking? Critical thinking is based on reasoning and conclusion. This affects how we as individuals see the world from our perspective.
How do the two speakers define it? According to Gary Meegan, critical thinking is the art of analyzing, thinking, and evaluating. it is important because it helps us get a better understanding of how the thoughts, as well as actions of someone, are a reflection of how they view the world. Critical thinking involves three methods: analyzing- Taking apart and reasoning how a certain thought is constructed. Evaluating- This is checking the quality of thinking and whether or not it can be trusted. Thinking- This helps us look into not only our thoughts but also the thoughts of others.
According to Jesse Richardson, Critical thinking teaches us to evaluate things precisely, for example, well-reasoned coherent thoughts and arguments this helps us be self-aware.
Why, according to the speakers, is it important? Critical thinking is important because it helps us solve problems.
Do you agree? Yes, why, or why not? I agree because it is essential for every aspect of life, health, employment, decision-making, etc. Being able to analyze and evaluate. I would like to add on to your definition of critical thinking. In my opinion critical thinking is more than just reasoning and conclusion. I believe there is an in depth step process our brain does when we critically think such as questioning, analyzing, and evaluating this improves the quality of our thinking. I agree with the answer to the last question, having a skill like critical thinking will help us reduce our mistakes when it comes to reacting to certain scenairos.
Hi~I agree with your opinion.
Part of being critical is about solving problems, and evaluating and analyzing things. Critical thinking is introverted and aimed at maximizing the rationality of the thinker while at the same time evaluating based on the careful analytical evaluation. Critical thinking requires us to reflect and pay attention to the decisions that guide our beliefs and actions. Allows us to reason logically, process complex information, and look at problems from different angles to draw more reliable conclusions. This is why each of us has a different worldview or conclusions about things. Also as you said, critical thinking reflection is the ability to examine the thoughts of oneself and others.
Thank you so much~
