The article that I read was the U.S announcing sanctions on Russia, as well as sending billions to aid Ukraine in damages as well as giving them military equipment against Russia. The U.S announced they will give $2 billion worth of equipment including mines, artillery’s, rocket system, ammunition, as well as an additional $10 billion for power grids to keep schools open as well as help keep houses warm. The sanctions are also aimed to target dozens of financial institutions, companies, and entities in Russia’s metals and mining sector to prevent further business. One fact that all three stories included were how outlets from each side highlighted concerns for the U.S as they could possibly experience a weapons shortage to due their severe involvement with the Ukraine aid as they have committed already nearly $90 billion in assistance. One fact that was only included in one of the outlets was that the U.S actually gave the supplies a month after announcing that they will continue to support and aid Ukraine. The reason for this may be because many people dislike how involved the U.S gets with military affairs. I also noticed the word use from the right side was more dramatic than the other source outlets, as they call Ukraine a “war-torn Eastern European country” that needs our aid.

This is an interesting article to choose because I think there are many different views on the Ukraine topic. Ukranine’s that have lived there, have family there, and have Ukraine pride can understand how devastating their situation is. They can appreciate the help and urgency from Biden’s plans. Morally I think what Biden is doing is great but economically I think it hurts us. We are just coming out of a pandemic and possibly going into a recession giving billions away to a country for aid just doesn’t seem right when we have our own people in our country homeless. Veteran’s who fought for us who struggle and homeless as well. I believe that we needed to take care of us before handing out help. If I spoke this out loud I believ I would get biases such as people not thinking I am a good person or even think I am selfish for having my own opinion, you know? Overall great choice in articles for a good debate on biases.
