Episode 2: Megan and “Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium”

How are you coming to terms with adulthood? Do you feel that magic has disappeared from your life? Or do you still want to play? Megan reflects on all these not so playful topics inspired by the movie that she discovered when she was very little: “Mr. Magorium’s Wonder’s Emporium” (2007). The movie, directed by Zach Helm, tells the story of the owner of a toy store (Dustin Hoffman) that wants to leave the business in the hands of a very smart but very frustrated girl (Natalie Portman). In the process, he will teach her to deal with joy, loss or even the joy of loss.

“Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium” was a box office flop when it was released, maybe because it was marketed as a less philosophical fairy tale. But Megan immediately knew that that movie was about being different, breaking the rules and trying to dream big even if that is not the most popular option. Lesson learned: the world can turn its back on you, but somewhere you will become someone else’s favorite.

But there is more to flesh out from this movie and, definitely, more to flesh out from the wonderful Megan. What about you? Do you still have magic in your life? Listen to our new episode and let us know!!
