Are you concerned about students using AI to generate test answers? Join us to hear how Masha Komolova has been using a variety of Brightspace features to discourage students from using AI for this purpose. Students in Masha’s classes complete asynchronous oral exams using the Brightspace “Record” feature. Exam questions are randomized and students have a set period of time for completion and submission. This approach not only discourages AI use, but provides a way for students to practice their oral expression skills. We’ll discuss Masha’s experience with these exams and will consider other innovative ways to discourage the use of AI during exams and quizzes.
The Brightspace Bistro is a space for BMCC faculty to share experiences with and tips about using Brightspace. Let’s learn together about how to make the best use of this new platform! CETLS and Digital Education staff will be on hand to provide support and answer questions.
