This informal writing group combines collegial camaraderie with Wendy Belcher’s Writing Your Journal Article in Twelve Weeks to get participants to done by the end of the summer. No matter the writing project (it doesn’t have to be an article) or where you are in the process, this group will provide information and solidarity to help keep you on track toward your summer goals. Generally following Writing Your Journal Article in Twelve Weeks as a guide, each week we’ll focus on small, manageable steps, and begin with discussion and check-ins before co-writing time. There will also be a dedicated space/breakout room for those who would like to use the time solely for writing in community.
Participants will receive a copy of Writing Your Journal Article in Twelve Weeks, and there will also be opportunities to learn about predatory or faux publishers, citation managers, resources for identifying publication venues, open access publishing and rights, and role of AI in research, depending on participant interest.
The modality (on campus, zoom, and hybrid) will vary each week based on needs and preferences of the group.
