Details

Accessibility is an important part of serving all the students in your classroom. Students have varying needs regarding access, and Brightspace helpfully offers several ways to optimize the accessibility of your course. In particular, you can use Brightspace to diversify the ways that students can access materials and navigate your course. This workshop will focus on the Ally tool and how you can use it to identify and make simple changes to improve the accessibility of your course. We will walk through the tool and how it flags items that do not meet the guidelines for accessible materials, and look at how it provides step-by-step instructions to make your materials more accessible. You’ll have the opportunity to think about what accessibility means in your Brightspace course, and leave with the tools to improve accessibility in your courses in the future.
