Object Name: Pink Flamingo, Reverse Goblet
Created by: Fritz Dreisbach
The object is a glass goblet, or a sort of drinking cup with a stem and foot to hold and place it on a table. On the stem of the goblet, there is a flamingo with see-through wings and legs, standing on the foot of the goblet. it also has a large black beak on it’s head.
This object was made to be one of a kind.
The function of this object was to pour drinks into, which is made clear by the cup-like shape at the top, but it also seems that it was made for decoration, as shown by how unique it is with the flamingo in the stem.
I believe that this object functions at what it is meant to do, however, with the design of the cup part, it does not seem to be able to hold too much liquid. The cup is inverted, and very narrow, so not a lot of liquid is meant to be held. This was likely the point, as it was probably made for alcoholic beverages meant to be drunk in small doses. However, it loses more general purpose as a result, in exchange for a more decorative design choice. Also with the way the flamingo leg is held up, it seems that it might be uncomfortable to hold as opposed to there only being one leg. However, from a design perspective, it adds intrigue, and makes sense as flamingos do have two legs.
Concept for an edit
I think that the object is mostly fine as it is. The only thing I would change is making the actual cup able to hold more liquid, so as to make it a more proper drinking glass. I feel that the leg makes a nice decorative portion, and would likely make only a minor inconvenience at best.
