3D Alligator Model Process

Initial Sketch of Alligator box

Originally, I made the flame character, but I decided that for making an actual 3D model, I would be better off with a different sort of character that would be better in box form, so I designed a sort of alligator box creature with a movable mouth.

First, the alligator was designed to be cut in paper. The legs were all made to be 3D, but they had holes in the center. The model overall was a success, but required some tweaking for future designs.

I then decided to simplify the legs as I could not fit the more 3D legs properly into the AI file without drastically reducing the size overall. I also was unsure how to go about designing the legs in 2D. There is a lot of visible tape due to some errors in the cutting process.

Finally, I made the cardboard design. The leg designs stayed the same, and certain places were adjusted for the different material that would be used. The alligator was successfully cut, but due to current circumstances was unable to be completed and documented.
