Some examples of new literacy are text messaging, podcasting, and video making.
One example of new literacy that I was shocked by was text messaging, although it makes sense when you think about it, before I would never put any attention to it. I would never think that im reading and learning more about a person and what they do.
From the reading assigned I learned that technology can be harmful to users because it can negatively affect the way people try to understand readings. Although technology also has many benefits to it as well.
In the TedTalk I learned how digital literacies change as much as traditional literacies do. I believe that digital literacies should be focused more on peoples interests rather than what is currently popular and trends that are going on.
The new literacies that help me get through school was calls and online searching. Without calls we wouldn’t be able to do zoom and we wouldn’t be able to receive an education. While online searching helped me search up something if i was stuck on something in class.
Sometimes I help my dad check read his emails if hes sending an important letter to one of his clients and now im pretty much used to it.
One new literacy that I wouldn’t be able to live without is text messaging as I love to talk to people everyday.
