It was a surprise to me because I didn’t thought it had anything to do with literacy at first until I came to the realization that it’s a form of communication as well.
3. What I learned from this weeks assigned reading is that technology could be harmful to users simply because it could affect the way users try to understand what they’re reading. Technology can be beneficial for users depending on how its used.
4. From this weeks TedTalk, I learned that digital literacies change over time as “traditional” literacies do. And the focus on developing Digital Literacies should be progressive and not sequential, in other words, it should be focused on people’s interests.
5. Text messaging and online searching are new literacies that helped me with my schooling. These new literacies helped me with my schooling because text messaging helped me communicate with my classmates or teachers. Online searching helps me with my assignments and it has a lot of resouces that I can use.
6. I was helping my mom navigate through Whatsapp and Instagram and at one point I’ve gotten accustomed to it since she would sometime ask me things relating to social media.
7. One “new literacy” I can’t live without is text messaging because it’s very convenient and I communicate with a lot of my friends and family members through text if I don’t call them.
