Hi Everyone–how are you doing? I know many of you are navigating work and school and family obligations. Keep on going, and reach out if you need anything.
I am so looking forward to reading your literacy narratives, which are, I believe, pieces of you and your life story. The quiz also looks interesting, including the extra credit assignment. Both are due by tomorrow night/ Tuesday. By the way, if I don’t give you the EC but you emailed me your message to one of the speakers/ authors, please just let me know, and I will add the extra points.
This week we are entering into our own ethnography of literacy, by zooming into the American Indian and Alascan Native perspectives. If you know anything about them, please share your insights in Post 3. In fact, one of the questions in Post 3 asks you to contribute a source about this topic. Remember that you are all authors in this class.
I also ask that you review the research essay options. Some of you may say, what? Research essay? Is it due next week? No, it isn’t. Check the syllabus for related due dates, and for the five options you have. E-mail me the option of options that sound good to you. We start working on this project early, to give ourselves plenty of time for collecting data and for revising.
Wishing you a productive week – Prof. Barnes
