Conversation 1:

Literacy is the ability to read, write, speak, and listen in a way that allows us to communicate effectively. It is a foundational skill that empowers individuals to participate actively in society, access information, pursue education and career opportunities, and engage with the world around them in meaningful ways. Literacy encompasses not only the basic ability to decode written words and form coherent sentences but also the capacity to understand and critically engage with various types of texts, whether they are in print or digital formats. John Trischitti defines literacy as an understanding of how to interpret, create, and present information in a variety of formats. He believes it is important for improving critical thinking skills, for communication, and for gaining access to knowledge, he also believes that literacy gives people the ability to become independent learners and to use information to their advantage I agree with Trischitti’s definition of literacy, as a fundamental skill that plays a crucial role in education, personal development, and participation in society. It empowers individuals to access and engage with information, make informed decisions, and communicate effectively with others.
