Spark Joy with Soap-Making

Materials:
- Gloves
- Hair net
- Face mask
- Microwave
- Soap base of choice
- Scent oil of choice
- Microwave safe bowl (glass works well)
- Silicone spatula for mixing
- Thermometer
- Soap mold
- Small measuring cup or pipette (5mL-30mL)
- Cosmetic-grade mica powder of choice
- Spray bottle of 91% alcohol
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Gather materials and put on gloves.
- Measure out soap base and cut into small chunks.
- Microwave soap base in a glass bowl for 30-second intervals, stirring occasionally, until liquid.
- Check temperature of melted soap to ensure scent oil can be added safely.
- Measure out scent oil, add it to liquid soap, and stir.
- Measure a small amount of mica powder and mix into liquid soap until it reaches desired color.
- Prepare mold by spraying with 91% alcohol.
- Pour liquid soap into mold and spray top with 91% alcohol.
- Leave mold overnight on a flat, dry area until solid.
