Even while implementing total change will take time and effort, you may start by integrating culture into your classroom. The small stages will all come together to form a large wave that will completely transform things for our kids. School becomes a child’s home at such a young age, which is why we must begin now. Our children need to feel loved and comfortable, to enjoy their time among everyone, and not to feel hesitant to speak to particular classmates because of their looks or religious views.

- Classroom Centers- Record children’s change in classroom and class participation.
- Create a center that is filled with each flag of the countries in your classroom and allow kids to bring things from their culture.
- Goal: Kids will be able to sit in this classroom center in comfy bean bags with pictures and paper to fill out with information they learned and give an appreciation note of the student they interacted with.
- Students will bring things they want to show their classmates (stuffed animals, clothing, food, pictures, art, etc.)
- Students will sit in circles and speak about their culture and what traditions amongst one another and comparing their cultures.
