Brightspace has two tools that enable instructors to see the course from the perspective of a student: View as Learner and Demo Student. This post describes how these tools differ.
View as Learner is a built-in Brightspace tool that allows you to quickly view course content from the learner perspective and engage in some course activities. Actions that you take within the course when viewing it as a learner are not saved, so you cannot review learner work once you return to the instructor view.
Demo Student is a tool that was developed by CUNY to enable instructors to get a more complete view of the course from the student perspective. Actions that you take within the course as a demo student are saved until the demo student is deleted. This enables instructors to grade and give feedback on demo student work.
