Everyone believes in values; having a commitment and to make it as a top priority that is important to them. Many people vales these things such as money and happiness. According to TEDTALK by Barry Schwartz titled “The Paradox of Choice:” he mentioned what Dan Gilbert said of how much we value things and what we compare them to. He then say we make it easier to see the things we attract we regret which makes us see things less satisfying. I agree with this because usually when we value something and the moment something fail in our plans or what we are trying to promote such as businesses, we tend to get over whelmed and stop our beliefs in what we have dreamed of in so long. I myself have a business of my own which is based on beauty products such as lashes. I kept receiving samples from companies I didn’t like what other vendors where sampling and having to create a business like that overwhelmed me so much. Every time I received a product and I hated it so much and It would continue for quite a while I started to regret even starting what I actually wanted to promote for others to have and buy. I value the quality and especially the styles of what I’m promoting. According to the article “From the ‘perfect’ salary to keeping up with the Joneses, here’s how money really affects your happiness” by Cory Stieg it says “Not only does having meaning make you happier, but studies have shown that you tend to be more productive, too.” This proves that when you earn a lot of money it makes you more active and continuing to work harder for the earnings. I agree that working hard you earn more money but at the same time this does not actually make you happy for a long period of time. Over working yourself for a long time does cause you to be unhappy later on in life because you don’t usually have a free time for yourself or even to enjoy life. It damages your emotional state within yourself and even having a connection with others because you’re not around family/friends but this also causes anxiety. I always believe money can’t buy time either. Even though earning money and knowing you’re does make you happy but it will never satisfy you in the long run.
