Summary
How does the author feel about her writing abilities? The author was very confident in her abilities of writing and math. She talks about how smart of a student she was and never having below a 3.0 GPA. This has happened to me many times before. When I feel a little to confident in something I might slack a little which would cause me to not want to do as good as I would've thought. I don't think this happened to her though. Maybe her nerves gotten the best of her. She explains in paragraph 3 that she was sure she has passed every part.
How does the author feel about standardized tests? The author never thought about how other people might've read her writing. She's learned to write depending on the audience. Sadly, this experience has caused her to hate write but she's learned a valuable lesson. She used to love tests it seems because she was so good and writing and math but I'm sure now after the experience she doesn't like test because she's unsure of who is reading them. Reading her story has really humbled me. Not when it comes to writing but anything else I feel really confident in.
Has there been a time in your life when you doubted your abilities as a writer or in general? Yes, I might be wrong but I feel as though everyone has a time in life where they are doubting themselves. I feel like its apart of growing up. Even now when I could be doing the simplest things that I've never tried before I will most likely doubt myself first because I've never tried it before. If its something I've been doing for years such as writing I will not really have a reason to doubt myself. Other parts of writing I can also doubt myself to such as writing poems. I love reading them but I feel like you'd have to have a certain type of thinking for writing poems. A more creative type of thinking.
How do you feel about your writing abilities? My writing abilities most definitely improved. I've always loved writing whether it was something small or when it came to writing the longest essays about the most boring things. I'm also good at improve writing which to me means, being able to make things that would usually be written short into becoming a little longer which is why ELA was the best subject for me in high school. I wouldn't say I have beautiful writing skills but I'm always open to learning new things about writing.
