2) The main difference between conservative and liberal ideology in the U.S. is the role of the government. Conservatives usually believe that the role of the government should be small and limited so that freedom and liberty are not compromised. However, Liberals believe that the role of the government should not be limited in society and that the government should work towards ensuring equality and protecting people from unfair situations.

Whole conservatives are focused on the idea of liberty, free markets, and low taxes, liberals are focused on the idea of equality, social justice, and government regulation.
