The game I chose today is called The Wolf Among Us made by Telltale Games and was released in 2013. The game itself conveys many genres including detective, mystery, thriller, etc. The Wolf Among Us is a graphic adventure game so the narrative plays the main role here. The big B wolf has to investigate series of murders and catch a killer.
- Crime-thriller – because the story is about the investigation we could consider the game as a crime thriller genre. The atmosphere is dark and twisty. The neon colours give some aesthetic effect to the setting.
2. Magical realism – The story takes place in Fabletown. A neighborhood in New York City where all characters from folk tales leave. So the location is real because the events are happening in a real city but we see characters like Beuty and the beast, talking frog and etc.
3.graphic adventure game – The main line of the story is to solve a mystery and find a murderer. For every detective, it’s essential to investigate the environment. To do that a player is asked to move the cursor over the screen to find “hotspots”. By exploration and collecting clues and pieces of evidence, the story advances and Bigby is getting close to the right answers.
