week 4

The story “Rose for Emily” takes place in a small town. Where everyone in the town knows Emily very well and always talks about her and her life what actually shes doing. William Faulkner uses a specific point of view ( 1st person plural “We”) to mention that the town people are talking about Emily that a proper way to use the word “we”.  whenever the people in the town say something about Emily like she may marry Homer but they just guess everything in Emily’s life. However, people think or talk about her she always does the opposite. The nonlinear timeline of the story provided the reader to assume a good understanding of the story where it flows with the town people which they talk about the generations that will pass by Emily’s life. How it will change afterward when she died. The story shows the different timing things that occurred with Emily. Like when her father died and her house changed and she became more understandable to the town people. The irony of the story is when the town people found the gray hair near the pillow.
