A quick introduction now that the spring semester has started! My name is Sofia Sundin, and I’m going to be your Supplemental Instructor for CRJ 102 this spring semester. I’m a former BMCC student who now has transferred to John Jay. My major at BMCC was Criminal Justice, but now I’m majoring in International Criminal Justice. I’m an international student from Sweden who has spent about 4.5 years in the United States now, first as an au pair and now as a student.
I have included a link to an introductory video where I introduce myself again and explain a bit about what I do as an SI. In essence, I’m a peer mentor to you. I have been an SI for Professor Satenik for a couple of semesters now after completing this class with her back in 2022. I hope I will be able to help and guide you with any questions and concerns you might have as you complete this course throughout this semester! 5% of your final grade is dependent on your meeting with me at least 5 times this semester. Meetings with me can be in person, over email, or even on WhatsApp, where I have created a group chat for your section where I can answer questions and remind you about due dates. If you want to schedule an individual session in person or online, my preferred method of contact is via email: sofia.sundin001@stu.bmcc.cuny.edu. I have created a survey that I would be happy if you could take the time to answer. It will help me see when most students are available so I can structure the SI experience to be as beneficial to you as possible and ensure you get the help you need. Thank you, Sofia! This is great!
