The Alpha Kappa Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) shines as a BMCC student initiative that is a beacon of academic achievement, leadership, and service. With the vision of fostering a community of scholars, this chapter has become a dynamic force representing the best of BMCC’s student body.
Under the guidance of advisors Alex D’Erizans and Diana Rickard, the Alpha Kappa Chapter is engaged in scholarly pursuits and community service initiatives. Students are more than members: they are a close-knit community of friends who collaborate to achieve aspirations and leave an enduring legacy of excellence and service at BMCC.
One important project that the student initiative currently develops is the “The Enhancement of Honors Culture at BMCC”, an initiative that investigates and identifies prospective areas of refinement of BMCC’s Honors Program. This initiative supports the college’s culture of care, and the responsibility to create conditions under which all students could learn to develop and thrive academically.
