
Module 1: Digital Audio
Before Class
- Setup your Computer with Audacity if you haven’t already
- Check your Hardware
- Microphone: If you’re using Zoom on your computer then it should have a mic you can use. If you want to record on your phone then try recording something brief and seeing if you can transfer the file to your computer.
- Headphones [optional]: It can really help if you have headphones to listed to what you’re doing when you’re editing sound.
- Second Screen [optional]: on days when we’re doing software in class it can help if you have a second screen (or a large monitor) so you can view what I’m doing on one and your software on another. If you don’t have one, it’s OK, don’t feel bad.

In Class
We will go over Audacity and how to:
- Set up tracks in a project
- Check which microphone is connected
- Record Audio
- Remove Room noise from audio
- use multiple tracks
- Find audio on the web
- Editing and adding effects
If we have time we will talk about the project.
