My audio project takes on a rainy Monday morning. The idea of the story is simple, the process of waking up to that faithful morning routine. It starts with the sound of the room window. To some; our first sound in the morning is that of the outside. In this case rain is hitting the window right before the alarm goes off. Followed by the sounds we make getting up and movements, to that first greet by a family member. In this story a dog. Wrapping it up to that first cup of coffee to start off the day. Is a very simple story and straightforward but I wanted to recreate something many can relate to. I recorded five sounds myself using my blue yeti microphone. Four of the sounds were recorded in my house and the coffee machine at work. As per the effects i used four which i combined to make two fluent sounds, the alarm and the rain. The most challenging part was removing backgropund sounds from my mic, it captured minor sounds such as my fan and pc ventilations. I struggled with it for a while. So I turned to youtube tutorials for some help. I confess there was a ton of trial and error. However I am happy with the end result. I preview my work with my kids and friends to positive feedback , they were able to see the story in their mind as the audio played. This achieving the story I wanted to tell.
