It is crucially important to establish a relationship with the primary caregivers of the children in your care as a teacher because children can sense when the parent or caregiver is distrustful of the person and then the child picks up on that distrust making it harder to establish a relationship with the child.

the best practices for working with infant toddlers and their families would be home visits and consistent follow-ups with the children individually and their families, this allows the child’s development progress to be monitored by the parents while their child is being cared for in school but also keeps the parents updated on their childhood.

As teachers, we should be culturally sensitive towards the children in our care and seek to learn about their cultures, we should also be thoroughly informed on parts of their culture that could or will be influenced by the classroom that the child is in and overall creating a culturally acceptive classroom.

from this module, I now see how important it is to be open with the parents and share the little details that goes on throughout a child’s day because this not only keeps the up to date with what’s going on while they are being cared for but also encourages the parents to participate I their child’s education.
