Working with parents of newborns is quite crucial in order to avoid any stress and pressure that might result from misinterpretation. We must be supportive as well as be an effective listener to alleviate their anxiety. Knowing when to respond, active listening and empathy are some of the skills we need to learn from this module’s reading.

Having daily communication with a family is a best practice because it creates an environment of safety and trust. Communication that is specific to the child, providing feedback on all center experiences while connecting these back to the home experiences( Keyser, 2017).
