Suffrage, labor rights, and the equal rights amendment are all correlated with each other. They all have to deal with people fighting for what they believe is right and help make a change based on the issue. The people fighting for these movements just want to be equal and get what they work hard for.
Labor rights are also issues of gender justice because there are many women who don’t get paid what they should and aren’t tried right in the workplace. Many people have a stereotype of women that they shouldn’t work or “aren’t capable”, when they are just as capable to work as men are. Plenty of women also get harassed or sexually assaulted in their place of work. They shouldn’t have to fear those things because a workplace should be a safe environment for all employees no matter the gender.
These issues are still happening in todays society all the time. Most women won’t get hired at a certain job because employers assume that they won’t be able to do the job, however, this is unfair because you don’t have to be a certain gender to do a specific job that any human being can accomplish. Everyone should get equal pay for equal work.
Hello Nadia. You make many valid points and its sad to know that these things are still happening. But as long as we continue to fight the fight we would eventually get to were we belong with these issues. Its a shame that women are treated like they are not capable of doing certain jobs. I agree everyone should get equal pay for equal work.
Hello Nadia, I agree with you 100% women should have equal rights as men in the workplace without feeling that they are incompetent to get the job done. Women have as much to contribute to society, but we get frowned up and told we know nothing, and our place is at home cooking and cleaning. I think not!
Hey Nadia, I agree that women should have equal rights and pay just like men. Employers do not appreciate women for their hard work because they are women. There needs to be a balance and awareness
Hi Nadia! It is true that these three movements are connected by being people who seek to end an injustice, but at the same time I feel that they are connected by the fact that they are also women who set out to create change. It is true that there were men who contributed to these movements, but the fact that women were also able to show their faces to end injustice, I feel is very important as well. I completely agree with you, many times the capabilities of women in any job are underestimated, as well as being abused by power. Since I have heard many times that many women who are at the top with a lot of power, most went through sexual abuse by their superiors to “succeed”.
Hello Nadia , I agree with you many people do have their own idea of what women should do, or are not able to do. It’s unfortunate that we came this far , however there is still a long way to go and plenty of recognition, respect and changes that need to be made. As far as fair treat in the workspace and equal pay.
Hey Nadia, I agree it is like no matter how forwardly progressive the world is there is this stigma on women that they can only do but so much when the possibilities are actually endless I think there is a fear there that if given too much power we can actually take over in all aspects so its safer for the way “society” is set up to try and keep us in specific categories !!
