The video “Abortion Helpline, This is Lisa” shows how they are an institution that helps financially and provides services to women who want to have an abortion in a safer way because it is a somewhat complicated process and everything increases depending on the months that the woman has. They do it through a foundation that collects money for aid.

In the article “Roe v. Wade” it is mentioned that the issue of abortion will be an issue that will not finish being debated because it has many pros and cons. Telemedicine abortion is supported by the Dutch doctor Rebecca Gomperts. Which is used to help girls and women who in other hospitals are denied an abortion to unwanted babies. This has created so many opinions because some are against the fact that an innocent baby is being killed, others that it can affect the mother in terms of her health and others that yes because if they are the product, for example, of rape, the girl or the woman yes. You do not want, you should not have it because it will remind you of that painful moment in your life. A viable fetus is said to start from 24 weeks, which is equivalent to 6 months. Some even claim that a fetus can survive to 22 or 23 weeks.
The documents show that the Supreme Court could overturn Roe v. Wade. They have an article that protects the freedom of pregnant women to choose abortion without excessive government restrictions. I think this is good in a way because many raped girls will not bring unwanted children into the world and also being both children, the mother is inexperienced. However, with legal abortion, many women who did have consenting sex abort simply because they do not want responsibility, to continue an active sexual life without the commitment of being mothers.
In the documentary “Vessel” it is observed how they are in favor of it being legal because each woman does what she wants with her body.

Merichel Almonte. Reflection12

I really liked the movie because women and men didn’t know anything about periods before because they didn’t have anyone to guide them on the subject, because women knew more about their bodies, their insecurities or curiosities. In addition, it matters a lot that technology and progress in the world was not even half of what it is now. When pads for comfort and use for women began to be implemented and created, everything began to make sense, however, when they had no idea about menstruation in the female body, it was something as shameful and as a taboo due to his ignorance and little knowledge of the subject. Everything would have been different if they had had someone to teach them, that is why it is very important today to teach both girls and boys about the subject of menstruation and sexuality because they must know their body and when they have intimacy with your partner should know you equally. I think that period is something natural for which we should not feel bad or ashamed because it is part of us and the woman is the one who gives birth, which is also something beautiful.
On the other hand, in the article on obstetric racism, I believe that many women experience it because society is the one in charge of creating these stereotypes that put one person below and another above for the simple fact of having different skin colors or status. In the article about transgender people, I believe that they have to have the same right as a normal citizen who is homosexual because they are human beings who pay taxes and work for society alike, they are consumers and the only thing that differentiates them is that they have a sexual taste or they want to dress differently.

I like this film and article about “Latinos who were represented in the Vietnam War and their families” because they are fight for what they think are they rights.
Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, and others were among the ethnic groups that fought in the war. Ethnic families with a good background, on the other hand, did not have to fight. They registered in good schools and sent the rest of their classmates to fight in the war on their behalf.
Discrimination was felt on the war as well as by veteran families at home. At the battleground, there was a lot of racism. Veteran families are protesting in the streets even though they are at war. Veterans found it difficult to fight militarily for their nations on the battlefield while also fighting for citizenship and equal rights. Even so, the veterans had to return home and continue the war with their families. Latinos began to believe that they were being exploited, which prompted anti government protests in the community.

You should recognize that we all have the same rights because we are all humans, and it now tends to depend on your identity.Your character has advanced.

The fact that they were mistreated and subjected to fighting and colonization of their lands led to this guerrilla war. I realized that no matter what time of year it is, we must all fight for our rights so that we can say in the morning, “I am Latina, and I am proud to be one.”

In the story “Birth Story” by Dana-Ain Davis. It is related about LeConté’s birth story that she is a woman of dark skin color. She says “It’s midnight and they made me push my baby new born just yesterday Don’t look behind me.” This shows that they did not give her the attention they should have and not so much that they did not at least have respect for professional ethics because anything that happened to her or her baby is the responsibility of the hospital, but since they have preferences between genders, they do not care. they imported. The video for “Period, the End of Sentence”. It shows how a girl had to drop out of school because she couldn’t find a way during her period and it was something very complicated in terms of her religion because she was from India and they don’t talk about those issues because they see it as something bad, very intimate and like a taboo. She had to give up what she wanted because of social oppression. However, I feel very good for them because despite everything they get ahead, they do creative things so that women can progress.

In the story “Birth Story” by Dana-Ain Davis. It is related about LeConté’s birth story that she is a woman of dark skin color. She argues in the poem that she made to show her experience was “getting up every two hours to feed
to take a new test night nurses not good nurses Press my breasts hard press my arms hard begging for my milk and my blood such a sacrifice I want to go home I want to go make a home Hospitals are not homes.” This illustrates how LeConté she had to be induced and her daughter was born four weeks early, which is something risky for both her and the baby, who must be more careful because anything can happen, but in the hospital they did not treat her as they should because they had to be more delicate and pay more attention to both of them, I assure you that if it were a white woman, they put her in a wheelchair, they put a nurse for her alone and they are helping her with the care of the baby more often, but since she was black, the doctors would say that she she can do it alone.

Merichel Almonte, Reflection 10.

I really liked the article by Aleichia Williams “Too Latina to be Black, Too Black to be Latina.” He taught me racial oppression simply because of its origin and how race can be an aspect of oppression. However, your origin does not define who you are, what counts are your values, who you are, your personality and your physique, loving yourself as you are because that way you are unique. They don’t need to fit in or regret being Black because a good-hearted black person is better than an evil white-skinned person.

The “identity” in identity politics shows as we all know, we live in a general public full of stereotypes about black people because a large part of them are seen as disgusting, ignorant and exceptionally exciting people.
Society has “stereotypes” of people who for them belong to the social circle and are considered by whites, without realizing how society includes blacks, since many of them perceive them as strangers. The assumption about the black community is made by the society that produces prejudice in new young people who adapt to these prejudices generation after generation, while black people live between two universes and have problems with their identity.

The “identity” in identity politics shows how America was made by black workers who bore the brunt of all the heavy lifting. How they had a salary that was not enough to eat decently and how they were the ones who went to war to fight for a country that was not theirs simply because having dark skin already meant that you had to be below the white. They sacrificed their lives when they didn’t even give him life insurance as a worker while the white man sat just ordering.

I would like to learn about the rights and the healthcare of Black community.

Merichel Almonte, Discussion 10

I really liked the “Paris Burns” video because it shows desire, passion, love, beauty and melancholy. It shows how life teaches many things and how everything is a sacrifice, for example, older people are tired of the system because they cannot have a normal life because young people and adults can see them as weak, fragile people and even feel sorry for their age and condition. Something that surprised me a lot watching the video was that a grag queen was murdered and left her body under a bed in a hotel as if it was worth nothing, as if his wife was not going to hurt anyone, as if she had no right to to live, the most painful thing was that she also had dreams and wanted to have a family even though the life she led did not give her the opportunity to have one. I think it may be what happens in many cases when they go to intimidate the other person, they don’t know her true gender, they think they are her accomplices and they can even kill her. All this is due to the bars and places that she created to satisfy herself just looking to enjoy the moment. Many people come to do this work out of necessity, because they want to leave their house to run away from some family problem, others because a friend takes them to that life or because they want money and for them it is the easiest way without remembering that they endanger not only their body but also their lives.

In “The Combahee River Collective Declaration” it is observed how identity politics is where the person only focuses on their own oppression. It is mentioned “In the case of black women, this is a particularly disgusting, dangerous, threatening and therefore revolutionary concept because it is obvious from looking at all the political movements that have come before us that anyone is more worthy of liberation than we are.” . themselves”. This shows how darker-skinned women are the ones that society has always marginalized from everything because of the stereotypes created that blue-eyed blondes are the most beautiful and intelligent when that is not true, degrading them as if they were not they had the same value, that. It fills me with rage because every day that passes I try to love and treat people of color better because we are all worth the same.

Capitalism is related to gender and race because whites for generations have always had privileges because society has given them that power and blacks have had to leave their own interests to be worth those of whites.
