The suffrage, labor rights, and the equal rights amendment are similar because, Between the suffrage movement and the women’s liberation movement, the paramount feminist issue was the Equal Rights Amendment. It was first proposed in 1921 by Alice Paul who had decided that the next step was the removal of all legal discrimination against women and that the most efficient way to do this was with another federal amendment. The ERA was aimed at the plethora of state laws and common law rules that restricted women’s jury service; limited their rights to control their own property, these movements had a lot to do with suffering in order for their voices to be heard. each of these movements has something similar. That was that they were protecting or giving rights to those who felt oppressed. The suffrage movement gave women the opportunity for men to hear them out.
Hi Heylee
I liked what you said about the equal rights amendment, it was absolutely the main problem during these decades. If it was approved we would not have gender issues or women getting poor treatment from their workplace, society, or even their educational institutions. Women’s voice needs to be heard as you said and they need more recognition.
Hello Heylee I really like your post because is true if the Amendment was approved the equal rights we would now having issues like discrimination. race, politics problem if a women is good for be president or not, women and men they would have equality at home and in work everything would be different and a world with less problems.
Hello Heylee,
All in all, I liked your response. I like that you mentioned the Equal Rights Amendment because time and time again throughout history we have seen how many have fought in order to make it so men and women are on an equal level. This amendment would’ve made it so that women wouldn’t feel discriminated against. Especially when it comes down to working fields, it would help in women being treated as a equal instead of less than an equal or simply being turned away because they are a woman and ‘can’t do what a man can’ in places like welding where it is mostly populated by male workers.
Hi Heylee,
I also like that you mentioned the Equal Right Amendment here, this would have changed a lot throughout history. Women wouldn’t be treated unfairly and seen as less than men, the discrimination would have not been as present.
