The way I look at it these are rights are related to people who are part of the working class, make up the majority of the population, and are getting the shorter end of the stick. These rights are connected because these rights are human rights. What baffles me is the longevity of struggle. It seems unsensible and hard to grasp how individuals in society must fight for rights in general. If I had it my way, we’d spend a year maybe even two just going over all things that need to be reformed and simply implementing them. However, as I grow I see more and more how greed and the power of money destructs society. Not to say that if the issue of money were to be changed and people were able to just experience life and not suffer racism, sexism, homophobia, and economic struggle people would simply be good and live peacefully. It is the fact that they are experiencing this under a government that in my opinion enforces and champions it. If the government took control of these areas, focused on education and freedom there would be a lot more ease and peace in experiencing life. There was the issue where women were not getting paid the same as men whilst doing the same job. History shows progress but in the end, there is always a bit of unfairness left.

Suffrage, labor rights, and the equal rights amendment, all of this are related as woman are the one affected and bringing into light the inequality the live on. Women are the revolutionary everything and making progress otherwise everything will stay unseen. In the suffrage we took the first step to have a place in society to make women voice count, labor right and ERA looked for equality for women. Suffrage, labor right and equal rights amendment was all about making women visible in a society that made them invisible. A society that focusing more on gender than in humanity.
Labor right is also issues of gender justice because it only affects women. As they fight for labor right, they are also showing the power they have. The triangle Shirtwaist fire clearly represent this where major of the people who die were women and this is because they were the one getting over work and getting abuse as they didn’t have any power in society. It took the loose of many lives to gain a place in society but a place that still is not equal. In labor field is where we see the most discrimination, inequality, abuse and oppressions.
I will say these issues enacted today society as we still see unequal pay, women work still not recognize as it should and if we go world wise, we can see this issue even more evident example India where women’s either stay home to take care of the family or over work for cents. There still are places even in United State that have short wages, and this is clearly seen in the protest to increase minimum wage, or the unions that are being created to help workers. Even though women have made some progress in politic matters and in society we still don’t have the equality we deserve.

The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire is a notable event in US history, whereby hundreds of young immigrant women met their deaths while looking to better their lives. Most of the women who died in the tragedy jumped from the ninth floor to the street below because their only choice was death from either burning or jumping. Although this incident occurred over a century ago, it is still relevant to modern labor and women’s rights discussions. For instance, the incident was instrumental in fast-tracking workplace protections. Eventually, the number of hours individuals could work every day became regulated, and workplace safety became engrained in labor laws. The aftermath of this workplace disaster inspired massive protests in the US. Eventually, it became a key item of reference for reform-minded politicians and other champions of organized labor. Because most of those who died during this tragedy were women, the incident acted as a catalyst for women to fight for their workplace rights and the right to vote. The argument was that part of the reason why women were suffering was that they did not have legislative representation. Overall, the incident was instrumental in showing how the struggles for representation in legislative bodies and equal rights were intertwined.

The women’s suffrage movement was part of the larger women’s rights movement, fighting for the right of women to vote and run for office. In the mid-nineteenth century, women in numerous nations, most notably the United States and the United Kingdom, organized groups to push for suffrage. The labor movement in the United States arose from the necessity to preserve workers’ common interests. Organized labor unions pushed for better salaries, appropriate working hours, and safer working conditions for people in the industrial sector. The labor movement spearheaded attempts to end child labor, offer health benefits, and assist wounded or retired workers. The Equal Rights Amendment is a proposed amendment to the United States Constitution that would provide equal legal rights to all American citizens, regardless of gender. It aims to abolish legal disparities between men and women in areas such as divorce, property, work, and other areas. How are these topics all related? These rights have changed how things are done. A better way to describe them would be the domino effect. All of them are related because they deprive someone, typically women, of a right. Although it should not be necessary to use people’s suffering to demand change or pass legislation, this is often the case. In 1911, The Triangle Shirt Factory, one of the deadliest workplace fires in New York City, killed 146 young women due to a lack of protection in their employment. This shouldn’t have happened.
How/why are labor rights also issues of gender justice? Gender justice is truly about ensuring that everyone, regardless of gender, has an equal opportunity to arrange their life and succeed. Labor rights are also concerns of gender justice because women continue to battle discrimination and demand equal pay, maternity leave, and protection from workplace violence to this day. Gender justice is the elimination of inequities between men and women in our society. This includes unfair treatment based on gender, including privilege and priority. To this day, young women, really teenagers, are deprived of their rights and denied the right to organize. As we all know, history tends to repeat itself, and if we don’t act now, it will be too late for millions of young women everywhere. Looking back in time, we can see that many things have changed, yet there is always opportunity for improvement.

The women’s suffrage, work rights, and the equal rights amendment are all equal since they all incorporate giving balance to ladies in a few way shape or frame. The women’s suffrage was to allow ladies the correct to vote in any decision whether it be nearby or national. Ladies found it out of line that they had no say in decisions happening within the nation they live in. They battled to have representation and a voice. Work rights for ladies implied giving ladies equal pay for equal work. This implied that they needed to be paid reasonably for the work they created since numerous of them was getting extremely come up short on for the horrifying hours they worked. Work rights moreover implied giving them normal working hours as well as giving them secure working situations. Finally it too implied giving ladies break even with rights to employments that men too worked. Equal rights correction (period) could be a proposed amendment to the U.S. Constitution. This would negate numerous state and government laws that segregate against ladies. It would offer assistance kill the calculate of sex when deciding lawful rights of ladies or men. All these relate since they deny somebody , primarily ladies , from a right. It is insane to think how not so long back ladies have been given rights be that as it may a few states still separate against ladies. Work rights are moreover an issue of sex since a part of ladies were being told to work eleven to twelve hours a day and got seriously come up short on.This got to be a sex issue since a part of ladies were denied comparable employments like men. In a few places around the world it is more common to put ladies in sweatshops. These issues can be seen in todays society by enormous enterprises. A part of todays enterprises choose to do their work work out of the united states and completely different nations to maintain a strategic distance from controls and well as be able to pay less. A part of these nations that they are requesting work from don’t grant their specialists the same rights in a working environment that America does. Too in a few of these nations they push ladies in these sweatshops to mass create for penny pay. In any case a parcel of these places fairly have issues with rights as a entirety. They manhandle child work and mishandle laborers in common since a parcel of these workplaces are hazardous. Places like this will fair proceed rehashing history with nonstop occurrences that can conclude up taking the laborers lives.

The two videos were very powerful and emotionally striking that really highlight the injustice in our workplace. The videos generally entail how history continues to repeat itself and the conditions have rarely changed in these sweatshops. The workers at these sweatshops suffer extremely unfair working conditions for horrific wages. They are not allowed to congregate to fight against the conditions they suffer under. The 1911 Triangle Factory fire consisted of workers exhausting themselves for ten to eleven hours a day and then losing their lives being crushed to death trying to crawl out of the factory when a fire occurred. Others died falling out of a window after throwing themselves so as to avoid dying by being burned by the flames of the fire. You would think that we would learn from this, but the second video entails workers in Bangladesh undergoing the same tragedy and then later on being beaten by police officers for protesting for raises and better working conditions. These issues go hand in hand with the assigned article on the Equal Rights Amendment, which would potentially provide a basis for an expansion on the understanding of discrimination on the basic of sex and would expand women’s rights furthermore on the constitutional level. These labor rights issues apply to all genders, who may be faced with unfair working conditions as those set up in these sweatshops and could then open the path for legal consequences (which were not faced by the owners of the 1911 Triangle Factory Fire) and owners of any sort of unfair business that exploits their employees. It is surprising to see that the article is dated in 2020, when Virginia became the 38th state to pass the amendment and to then realize that there are still states that have not ratified this amendment. It seems almost as common sense or very direct to know that protection like this is needed in our communities and you wold think this would be an unanimous decision where all would vote in favor expanding through the nation. We can still see the inequality in today’s workforce where women are generally underpaid, across a spectrum of multiple fields, when compared to men. The United States also still utilizes these third world countries to pay for cheaper labor and maximize profits for their goods. Upon further research, I found that these sweatshops do not only exist in third-world countries but are actually among us in the United States as well.

Labor rights, suffrage and the equal rights amendment are all related because they go hand in hand. It’s all fighting for the same thing in a way, suffrage is the right to vote, having the right to vote shows that we’re more then second class citizens and that we have a voice, that we can chose who runs our country and the changes we’d like to made. Equal rights amendment is to guarantee legal rights for all citizens regardless of gender. Labor rights is issues of gender justice because All genders can and are exploited, working in harsh conditions in sweatshops factories etc, hours a day with no breaks, extremely dangerous work conditions and the wage is low. Although it was abolished in the US In 1930’s it’s far from the end of unfair labor. Ive see historical issues enacted in todays society many times, women still being treated as second class citizens in work place, being paid less then their male coworkers. A few months ago there was a strike in Haiti of sweatshop workers that worked around the clock for a measly $5 dollars a day. Their goal? To be paid $15 a day. Although we have changed many laws in the US there’s lots of work to still be done.

The initial version of the Equal Rights Amendment, the Lucretia Mott Amendment, was first introduced by Alice Paul in the 75th celebration of the Woman’s Rights Convention in 1923 (Tara Law in TIME Magazine Online at time.com 3). The rights stated that both women and men should have equal rights within the US and every other place subjected to its rules. The change was also introduced to the parliament in the same year. These amendments of the equal rights were to support the liberties and the rights of all women. For instance, in the great Chicago fire, a young immigrant woman was accused and convicted for being the cause of the fire (The Great Chicago fire…, 00:0036). This occurrence is attributed to lack of rights supporting the well-being of all human kind. However, the labor unions were still striving to protect workplace laws, as social conformists considered the amendments of equal rights a threat to the available power structure. Suffrage, equal rights, and labor rights were related in many ways. The three movements were fighting for the rights of women. For instance, the equal rights amendment focused on equal rights between men and women within the US. Labor rights also called for fair treatment of women and other minority groups at workplaces. The suffrage rights gave women freedom and liberty to vote and even hold a political position in the US. Therefore, these movements were focused on ensuring equality of all humans within the US irrespective of gender, social class, and ethnicity.
Labor rights can sometimes be referred to as gender justice for several reasons. First, the rights were advocating for the rights of all humans at the workplace. It advocated for the rights of all people regardless of gender, age, class, and even ethnicity. Labor rights strived to have the laws that burns the import of child labor goods and forced labor goods to the US (Institute for Global Labor and Human Rights 00:08:12). In the older times, only men wore to work to provide for their families. The gender roles describe women’s functions to taking care of children and doing house chores. However, the introduction of Labor Rights broke this stereotype and myths allowing women and other minority groups to work at any organization. It gave women equal rights and liberty to work.
Historical issues have been enacted in today’s world. The majority of nations in the current world are calling for the equality of all humans as far as gender is concerned. They are calling for the equal rights of both men and women. This is proven by many women who hold political positions around the world. Therefore, women’s rights have been enacted in different States, giving women equal power to perform different activities.

the suffrage , labor and equal right amendment are all related in a similar way, examples are the suffrage amendment was passed because women had no right to vote, same with the labor right this was a huge part because of the incident in the triangle shirtwaist factory that had killed 146 workers because proper precaution was not taken to ensure the safety of those women, lastly the equal right was also proposed to make sure that both sex had equal right which brings us back to the right to vote, this law was passed because us women did not have any rights and when we did we were not protected and still not. I believe that labor right is a matter of gender because if we look at what had happened to those women in that factory that is a prime example as to why gender plays a big role, women are always overlooked and never cared for, we are ignored till we fight. some women are also not paid as much as men or have the same rights as men in the workplace also lets look at how some women are not given full maternity leave or none at all, some are required to come back to work three days after given birth and ya don’t think this is a gender thing? I mean there’s only one sex thats able to giver birth. many women were forced to stay home and not do anything till women fought really hard to be equal and till then women were not protected and still not till this day, men are still earning more than women. looking back at the factory fire that situation could’ve been prevented but since were didn’t even have rights back then the owners didn’t care enough to provide a safe environment for those girls back then. lastly I see this historical issues enacted today this way, in 2019 Virginia was one of the states to pass the ERA amendment which give equal rights to both sex, this is something that still very much an issue till this day because just not so long ago women were denied the right to an abortion and also women are still not given paid leave in some companies for maternity leaves or they are required to come back to work right away among other things. this issues are still much relevant and will continue to be if we don’t fight back.

Suffrage, labor rights, and the equal rights amendment are all related. They all affect mostly women and have caused controversy throughout history. Fighting for labor rights is significant because of the discrimination of women in the workplace. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory is an example of why labor rights cannot be overlooked. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory was a sweatshop. Women would work there under poor conditions and extremely long work hours. The infamous fire that occurred is why labor rights matter. There were no safety measures in place, and only two exits. One of the exits was blocked so the women couldn’t steal or take breaks. Because of the lack of safety measures, the majority of women died in the building. Although this happened many years ago, the workplace is still unsafe and lacks equality today. Labor rights are needed in order to ensure women are being paid correctly and are treated fairly. The Triangle tragedy could have been avoided if people cared about the safety of those women. This raises awareness for gender justice because till this day, wages aren’t as high for women as they are for men. Women are still being overlooked. Sweatshops are still here, even outside of America. The equal rights amendment is similar to labor rights because its purpose is to protect people from being discriminated against. Labor was a concern for the people because they believed if the ERA was passed, the number of hours women can work would be limited. Alice Paul, who wrote the ERA, also pushed for suffrage. She tried to apply techniques from the British suffragist movement, such as civil disobedience, on Americans to create a suffrage movement in the states. Overall, each of these factors have one thing in common: equality. The intention behind wanting to be able to vote and have better work conditions as a woman comes from men having all these rights “naturally”, whereas women have to make a statement in order for these factors to be considered. Many may make the argument that this was something of the past and women are no longer oppressed by the system. This would be false because these issues are still enacted today in society. Although the average working woman may not be in a sweatshop here in the states, women are struggling to still be treated on the same level as men, even if they’re in the same position of work.
