I chose this image because of what’s going on this week with abortions. Us women, should have a right to do what we want with OUR body. “My body my rules.” There Is nothing pro-life about forcing others to give birth against their will. Why are we letting men that have no clue about the reproductive system make laws about women’s bodies? Whether or not a woman gets raped or simply doesn’t want to carry anymore doesn’t matter. No government has the right to tell women they can and cannot do with their bodies. I feel like we went back decades, fighting for this again.

I had also chosen an art that protested for legalization of abortion. The news about Roe v. Wade has really been messing with my head all week and I guess that is why I gravitated towards something that shows the very same frustration women before me had. It’s infuriating that we still have to fight for something that was already granted to us.

What an amazing painting. Similar to what Bidushi commented, seeing the news unfold ‘tis week about Roe vs. Wade has truly took a toll on my mood and emotions this week. Although I hate to think negatively about people, I simply cannot understand, and refuse to understand, how it is that these men in power feel the need to take away a woman’s right to make decisions about her own body. It’s mind blowing.

Wow so impress about this paint. Abortion has been a controversial topic as many has different point of view about it. And the fact that women feel like they dont even have control of their body is a sad situation we are facing.
Hey Tanya, I like how the painting depicts the women as if she’s trapped. We are trapped in this society because we don’t have a say with our own bodies. It should be up to us because we’re the ones carrying the fetus, not the government. If a man’s body was being controlled, it would be a huge issue. Great choice of art!
