when it comes to writing freely I honestly don’t know what to write but what I can say is I’ve learned so much from this class when it comes to feminism and oppression and privilege. when I first came to the United States I had no idea the meaning behind this words and even when I asked people the would give me their definition of it. but the older I got the more I understood what each of this words mean because I came face to face with it. I had seem some privilege first hand and racism and all sorts of things , I had come face to face with misogynist people and their taboo ideas and it hit me like wow this sort of things is what feminist fight for. I wanted to take this class to learn more about women and I definitely did, I learned from our beginning when we started fighting for our equal rights , and what other women from all over the world do as well to fight for this on a daily basis till this day just like In the reading ” what’s in a name? on writing the history of feminism how we been fighting for equally since the 60s and we would continue to do so till we are treated with equal love and respect .

Hi Sheena ,
I myself had a lot of trouble of knowing what to write. I had a writers block completely and since there is so much material I couldn’t choose from which one to talk about only. I feel like when we are younger we don’t necessarily now exactly the experience we go through that can be racist and/or sexist. However when we grow older and educate ourselves we look back at a lot of experiences and notice how wrong these things were.
Hi Sheena,
I understand the feeling of coming to another country and being puzzled about many things. Thats why it was important for me to attend college and expand on my knowledge. These very important term such as feminist that many might think is easy to define or understand is not. However, this class has allowed me to educate myself on terms like these because they are very important in our society.
Hi Sheena,
I too have learned so much in this course about privilege and overall human rights and the importance of acknowledging these issues in our society and speaking up against them. I knew this class would be very interesting and would strike me in ways a science or math class could never. This class has opened my eyes and has allowed me to broaden my knowledge on issues in history that still continue to impact us on several levels today, which is why it is important that we put this knowledge to use!
I felt very bamboozled when I first got to the united states. I saw the difference in everyone and I was intrigued. As I got older I saw how though America says one thing, they believe something else completely.
I have loved learning new terms or correcting them in this class.
I can also agree on that in this class I’ve learned a lot about feminism and privilege.
