Also, as far as the writing assignments go, all students are free to choose which texts they write about; this also holds true for the research paper:  students are free to choose a research topic which resonates with them &#8212; as long as it is thematically connected to a text we have read and discussed in class during the semester,  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Post<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"entry-content wp-block-post-content is-layout-flow wp-block-post-content-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>What is learner-focused about my syllabus is that I ask my students to co-create the class with me.
