While in Portugal last fall, I met with museum curators, spoke to leading art historians, and toured Josefa de&nbsp;\u00d3bidos\u2019&nbsp;hometown of&nbsp;\u00d3bidos.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This trip included visits to the following locations:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Municipal Library,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Santar%C3%A9m,_Portugal\">Santar\u00e9m<\/a>, Portugal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carmelites\">Carmelite<\/a>&nbsp;Convent, Cascais,&nbsp;Portugal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Convent of Santa Madalena,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alcoba%C3%A7a,_Portugal\">Alcoba\u00e7a<\/a>,&nbsp;Portugal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Church of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/w\/index.php?title=Santa_Maria_de_%C3%93bidos&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1\">Santa Maria de \u00d3bidos<\/a>, \u00d3bidos, Portugal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/National_Museum_of_Ancient_Art\">Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lisbon\">Lisbon<\/a>, Portugal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Museu Regional, \u00c9vora, Portugal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Municipal Library<em>, Alpiar\u00e7a, Portugal<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When I returned to New York, I developed my research into an article. My piece was eventually published in the New York Sun just this past spring.
