Conversely, an unjust law contradicts moral law, degrading human personality. He argued that an unjust law is one that a majority inflicts on a minority, which the majority doesn’t apply to themselves, or a law in which the minority had no part in enacting due to being denied the right to vote. Essentially, just laws promote equality and human dignity, while unjust laws perpetuate inequality and oppression.

An example of an Unjust Law in the United States today could be the Jim Crow Laws. the Jim Crow Laws are state and local laws enacted in the Southern United States that enforced racial segregation and discrimination against African Americans. They included restrictions on voting, access to public facilities, education, and employment. An example of a Just Law could be the Environmental Protection Act. The Environmental laws like the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act aim to protect the environment and public health by regulating pollution and promoting conservation.

[26

post-11456","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-discussion-board-13
https://openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu/pol-100-0504-spring-2025-introduction-to-american-government/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/11456
GET
https://openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu/pol-100-0504-spring-2025-introduction-to-american-government/wp-json/wp/v2/posts
https://openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu/pol-100-0504-spring-2025-introduction-to-american-government/wp-json/wp/v2/types/post
https://openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu/pol-100-0504-spring-2025-introduction-to-american-government/wp-json/wp/v2/users/10371
https://openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu/pol-100-0504-spring-2025-introduction-to-american-government/wp-json/wp/v2/comments?post=11456
https://openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu/pol-100-0504-spring-2025-introduction-to-american-government/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/11456/revisions
https://openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu/pol-100-0504-spring-2025-introduction-to-american-government/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/11456/revisions/11457
https://openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu/pol-100-0504-spring-2025-introduction-to-american-government/wp-json/wp/v2/media?parent=11456
https://openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu/pol-100-0504-spring-2025-introduction-to-american-government/wp-json/wp/v2/categories?post=11456
post_tag
https://openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu/pol-100-0504-spring-2025-introduction-to-american-government/wp-json/wp/v2/tags?post=11456
