Spring Writing Group<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wednesdays, February 11 &#8211; May 13, 10am-12pm (no meetings over spring recess)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hosted by Craig Nielsen and jean amaral, Library Open Knowledge faculty members<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Building on the momentum of <a href=\"https:\/\/openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu\/bmcc-faculty-collaboratory\/blog\/recap-12-weeks-to-done-a-summer-of-writing-community-at-bmcc\/\">last year\u2019s writing groups<\/a>, we are offering a spring edition for interested staff and faculty. The writing group combines collegial camaraderie with Wendy Laura Belcher\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/press.uchicago.edu\/ucp\/books\/book\/chicago\/W\/bo26985005.html\"><em>Writing Your Journal Article in Twelve Weeks<\/em><\/a> to get participants to done by the end of the semester. No matter the writing project (it doesn\u2019t have to be an article) or how far along you are in the process, this group will provide information and solidarity to help you achieve your semester goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will have a limited number of physical copies of Belcher\u2019s <em>Writing Your Journal Article in Twelve Weeks<\/em>, which we are prioritizing for participants writing journal articles. There will also be opportunities to learn about and discuss topics such as predatory or faux publishers, citation managers, resources for identifying publication venues, and open access publishing, depending on participant interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will be meeting in a <strong>hybrid<\/strong> format, in the CETLS Conference Room (S-510D) and via recurring Zoom room. Each week we\u2019ll begin with loosely facilitated discussion and check-ins before silent co-writing time.
