” Chris How<\/a>, principal UX consultant at strategi’c design and innovation agency Clearleft<\/a>, has found that the maxim of \u2018test early and often\u2019 really holds true….<\/p>\n

…Femke van Schoonhoven<\/a>, a product designer at Uber, points out that, to ensure a successful user test, it\u2019s important to reduce bias and consider context when creating your prototype.<\/p>\n

‘It\u2019s good to remember that you are not your user, and whoever you\u2019re testing with will be seeing your designs for the first time, without any of the context you have.’\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Your Task<\/h5>\n

Have one or two people test your prototype. It can be a family member or a friend. Write about the testing experience and what you learned from it.

To conduct the testing follow these steps:<\/p>\n

  1. First, the test should be on a mobile device. Here are instructions on how to view your Figma prototype on a phone<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Outline a scenario for how they would come to be using the app so they have the context.<\/li>\n
  3. Introduce the main task they should try to accomplish on the app.<\/li>\n
  4. Ask them to think aloud as they navigate the app.<\/li>\n
  5. Watch what they\u2019re doing. Notice when they get stuck. If they can’t find their way around the app or get confused ask them open questions about what they would expect to happen.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n
