To get to them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click <strong>Help<\/strong> in the AE main menu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>After Effects in-app tutorials<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll down to\u00a0<strong>Skills and Projects<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Animation Fundamentals<\/strong>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We will look at the <strong>Keyframe Animation<\/strong> and <strong>Animate an Object to Follow Along a Path<\/strong> tutorials.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are more if you want to go deeper.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/content\/enforced\/419449-BMC01_MMP_100_1249_14396\/Animation\/Screenshot%202024-10-21%20at%209.31.14%E2%80%AFAM.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Four Types of AE Animation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are four types of animation in After Effects (each of these links to a video tutorial with sample files):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Manual Keyframe Animation<\/strong>: in this style you manually set keyframes and then change properties of objects or entire layers at different points in the timeline.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/creativecloud.adobe.com\/cc\/learn\/after-effects\/web\/animate-shape-layers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Animate Shape Layers<\/a>\u00a0Tutorial<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Auto-generated Animation<\/strong>: in this tutoral, you will use the Wiggle Transform to give clouds a random, floating movement. You can use this and other effects for various types of movement that would be hard or tedious to do with keyframes.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/creativecloud.adobe.com\/cc\/learn\/after-effects\/web\/add-animation-to-shape-layers?locale=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Add Animation Properties to Shape Layers<\/a>\u00a0Tutorial<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Path-based Animation<\/strong>: in this style, you create a path (you can draw with the pen tool or others) and then apply that path to the position of an object so it moves along the path.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/creativecloud.adobe.com\/cc\/learn\/after-effects\/web\/animate-along-path?locale=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Animate an object to follow along a path<\/a>\u00a0Tutorial<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Text Animation:<\/strong>\u00a0There are some separate properties and Effects that you can animate for text.
