We will use Github pages (a free option that also allows us to familiarize ourselves with a very popular platform: Github). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is Github<\/strong>?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>GitHub is a code hosting platform for version control and collaboration. It lets you and others work together on projects from anywhere. Learn more about the Github platform and how to use it to share and edit files <a href=\"https:\/\/guides.github.com\/activities\/hello-world\/\">here<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use GitHub Pages to host a website about yourself, your organization, or your project directly from a GitHub repository. You can read more about Github Pages <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.github.com\/en\/pages\/getting-started-with-github-pages\/about-github-pages\">here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Steps to upload your project<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Make sure all your files for the project are correctly organized and named: The home page should be <code>index.html<\/code>, and none of your file names should include spaces. The project should include at least five<code> .html<\/code> files, one <code>.css<\/code> file, and images ( <code>.jpg<\/code>, <code>.jpeg<\/code>, <code>.png<\/code>,<code> .gif<\/code>, or <code>.svg<\/code> )<\/li><li> Go to <a href=\"http:\/\/GitHub.com\">github. com<\/a> and create a free account (or login if you already have one).<\/li><li>Click the <strong><em>Start a project<\/em> <\/strong>button<\/li><li>On the<strong> <em>Create a new <\/em><i>repository<\/i><\/strong> page: <ol><li>Name your repository in the  <em><strong>Repository name<\/strong><\/em> box (i.e: adventure)<\/li><li>In the <strong><em>Initialize this repository with<\/em><\/strong> section, check the<strong><em> Add a README file<\/em><\/strong> box.<\/li><li>Click the <em><strong>Create repository<\/strong> <\/em>button<\/li><li>Your newly created repository is displayed on the next page<\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Upload your files:<ol><li>Click the <em><strong>Add file<\/strong><\/em> button at the top and select <em><strong>Upload files<\/strong><\/em><\/li><li>Drag and drop <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">all<\/span> the files comprising  your project<\/li><li>Make sure <em><strong>Commit directly to the main branch<\/strong><\/em> is checked<\/li><li>Click the <em><strong>Commit changes<\/strong><\/em> button<\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Turn your repository into a website:<ol><li>Go to <em><strong>Settings<\/strong><\/em><\/li><li>Select <em><strong>Page<\/strong><\/em>s<strong><em> <\/em><\/strong>in the left hand side menu<\/li><li>Click button under the <strong><em>Source<\/em><\/strong> section, select <strong><em>main<\/em><\/strong> <\/li><li>Click the <strong><em>Save<\/em><\/strong> button<\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Your files are now on the web, ready to be viewed.
