HyTek Solutions – Twine – Week 2

With the visual style sorted away, I have established the premise of the adventure. Inspired by the Dystopian themes found in many games like Fallout and Cyberpunk 2077. A massive corporation controls and treats its employees like cattle, and you are another cog in the machine.

In HyTek Solutions the player takes on the role of a new employee in a dystopian corporate oversight position. Your job is to make decisions on various situations in the form of “Tickets.” But be aware, HyTek Solutions’ Management system is run by an advanced AI: Cortex, who is evaluating your actions. Will you be a good little corporate dog? Balance your job with doing the right thing? Or will you seek to upend the system entirely?

The game keeps track of a few variables in the background as part of “Cortex” evaluating performance. While your interaction with the world is through your work terminal, glitches occur and a secret underground resistance group is acting in the background. You may end up unwittingly helping and subsequently being recruited by them as their “man on the inside.”

  1. I don’t usually play a lot of games, but I would definitely play yours! The concept is really interesting, and the way you built the dystopian world with choices, the AI Cortex, and the secret resistance makes it look really engaging and fun.

  2. Your Twine concept is really interesting. I like that your theme is based on a dystopian atmosphere, similar to games like Fallout and Cyberpunk 2077. The yellow visuals especially remind me of the UI you see when playing Fallout, which helps reinforce the atmosphere of your project.
