I choose this location because, although it is physically calm, it is mentally overwhelming, mirroring the pressure and chaos that the internet brings into even private settings. I used volume automation, fades, and slight overlapping to increase the intensity of different audio samples: room tone, city ambiance, typing, phone notifications, and layered vocal fragments. The hardest challenge was striking a balance between the noises so they were captivating without being overpowering, which I achieved by progressively adding layers of audio and including quiet passages at the conclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The listener is grounded in a peaceful environment as the audio opens with a gentle city atmosphere heard through a window. As the audio continues, a sense of digital overload is created by the layering and overlapping of typing, notifications, and fragmented ideas.
