{"id":70,"date":"2020-01-08T16:34:04","date_gmt":"2020-01-08T16:34:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu\/mes152-samplesite\/?page_id=70"},"modified":"2021-12-03T15:37:04","modified_gmt":"2021-12-03T15:37:04","slug":"media-then-now","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/openlab.bmcc.cuny.edu\/mes152\/media-then-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Media Then &amp; Now"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p><em>This topic gives students an overview of media and its vast influence on all aspects of our society and our personal lives.\u00a0\u00a0 First, students should have a basic understanding of mass media\u2019s evolution by briefly reviewing the histories of different forms of media.\u00a0 Then, class discussions should examine media in the present day.\u00a0 With the advent of the personal computer, the increasingly widespread availability of the internet and more affordable mobile devices, media now can be viewed, experienced and globally consumed like never before.\u00a0 Comparisons should be made between media then and now.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><em>Students should understand the basic differences between mass media and corporate media.
